  • About

The Elwha Klallam Heritage Center is home to an exhibit: c'ix'íc'n: A Klallam Village. Artifacts recovered from the ancient village site near Ediz Hook are on display in the Great Hall of the center; the village site, over two thousand years old, is the largest excavated in Washington State.

Designed to remind visitors of traditional longhouses, the Great Hall is also home to a display of contemporary art by local tribal members, including paintings, woven items, and carvings. The gallery's centerpiece 'Elwha River, Journey Home,' a fountain of copper salmon, celebrates the unique Elwha River, currently being released from a century of dams.

Tribal land is located at the river's mouth. Take your time to enjoy the calming ambiance of the Great Hall, then visit the gift shop to find many one-of-a-kind handmade gifts from local artisans. Klallam Kup can provide you with your favorite espresso as you experience the culture and traditions of this great Salish tribe, the art and the commercial kitchen.

Art Gallery & Gift Shop featuring local Native American art including prints, basketry, carvings and more.

The Elwha Kallam Heritage Center also offers beautiful meeting rooms and a state of the art commercial kitchen. An ideal location for small business meetings, lecture sessions and even an intimate wedding.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with a walk in fridge and freezer, four sandwich cold stations, deep fryer, convection oven and a smoker. The perfect venue to offer small cooking courses. Room accommodations range from ten to 80 people.
