Cabled Fiber & Yarn showcases the fiber arts and artists of the Pacific Northwest.
Recognizing that there hadn't been a yarn shop in Port Angeles for many years and that the community needed a place to gather, socialize and share their love of the fiber arts, Cabled Fiber serves as the place to congregate and educate.
Pacific Northwest's Cascade Yarns continues to be our "flagship" yarn, but we have grown to include a wide variety of locally produced yarns and spinning fibers. We are particularly interested in sustainable agriculture and products which support a healthy environment. We encourage others to experiment with techniques and to join us in sharing the joy of creation, experimentation and diversity in the fiber arts.
MarySue French, our original founder, has been a "fiberholic" for 50 years; knitting, spinning, weaving and felting and has been active in the North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild, Northwest Regional Spinners Association and the Straight Knitters Guild. Cables are a passion for MarySue and the store has had great success with teaching cables to knitters and spinners of all skill levels.
Beth Witters began her association as the Education Coordinator from the onset, bringing together a wealth of local talent to teach knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving and felting classes. Beth has a long established love of fiber arts. -
