Seattle native Cecellia-Wendy A. Lee (aka ‘Wendy Lee’) is an acclaimed operatic singer, with a rare and unique voice type known as a coloratura soprano that gives her the ability to sing incredibly high as well as pack a powerful punch. Though specializing in opera Wendy is an incredibly diverse and flexible artist who has performed in many genres with theaters throughout the Pacific Northwest such as Tacoma Opera, Civic Light Opera, Fat Chance Opera, and the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society. She has also been a solo guest artist performing on ‘Live By George’ radio/web broadcast with the late George Shangrow on KING-FM, and with local orchestras including Rainier Symphony. Wendy has also performed as a National Anthem singer for Seattle University’s baseball, soccer and volleyball teams, the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball team, as well as the Everett AquaSox and Tacoma Rainiers Minor League Baseball teams. Recently, Wendy sang at the XFL Seattle Sea Dragons game. Wendy is an accomplished violinist/violist who plays for several regional orchestras and is a regular gigging musician. Known for being a go-getter with a heart for a good cause, she single handedly organized over 350 fellow singers/instrumentalists in the ‘Seattle Sings For Haiti’ fundraiser event held at Saint Mark’s Cathedral after the devastating Haitian earthquake in 2010, as well as a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony to feed Seattle area students in need. In addition to her busy career as a highly sought after professional singer, Wendy has dedicated almost all of her free time to her passion for musical education. A beloved figure in the western Washington educational scene, Wendy is particularly known and loved for inspiring her students and guiding them to find their best selves. Her goal for her students is to help them go above and beyond what even they thought was possible - using music as a way to build a better and kinder society.
