Event Description:
Level up your food preservation skills in this hands-on field to flask workshop. Learn the why and how behind various techniques available for saving freshly harvested plant foods and medicinals. Bring home skills, inspiration and a bottle full of healthy deliciousness. Syrups are an easy way to preserve the seasonal flavors of our locally grown fruits and herbs. Learn together as we make a Rhubarb-Nettle Syrup using locally grown plants. Hands-on skills include safe food handling, harvest techniques, washing, dehydration, infusing, bottling, and labeling. We will spend a portion of our class time outside, so please dress for weather.
