Name: Field Hall Presents: "Love & Water" Benefit with Katya Grineva
Date: July 16, 2023
Time: 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Join acclaimed pianist Katya Grineva for Love & Water: a selection of romantic classics selected to celebrate our waterfront venue. This event will also honor our Founders Circle donors including Dorothy Field, Donna Morris, and the hundreds of local arts patrons who have made Field Hall a reality. Ms. Grineva has prepared a program of romantic piano classics thoughtfully selected to honor Field Hall as a new waterfront venue and a place for connection. This unique program will be performed only once - don't miss this afternoon of exquisite music! Selections include: "Clair de Lune" - Claude Debussy "Boat on the Ocean" - Maurice Ravel "Poems of the Sea" - Ernest Bloch "Barcarolle" - Pyotr Tchaikovsky "Fantasie- Impromtu" - Frédéric Chopin "St. Francis de Paule Walking on the Waves" Franz Liszt Known for her romantic and poetic style, Katya Grineva has engaged and entertained audiences throughout the United States, Europe, South America, Asia and Africa. She has performed more times than any other solo female pianist in the history of Carnegie Hall. Born in Moscow, Ms. Grineva began studying piano at the age of five. She attended the Moscow Music School and studied with prominent Professor Pavel Messnar under the aegis of the prestigious Moscow Conservatory. It was during her tutelage by Messner that she began giving recitals and experiencing the "special and spontaneous" interaction between that artist and the audience that is the hallmark of her music. Ms. Grineva captures the heart of audiences with a rare combination of vulnerability, poignance and effortless virtuosity. Through her music, Grineva says, "I want to be remembered for being able to touch people's lives - with a full heart."
