The Port Angeles Chamber is thrilled to bring back the Apple Pie Baking contest, where local (or visiting) amateur chefs can show off their baking prowess with their personal version this great American classic.
Judges: This year's judges will be John Brewer, Jeff Tocher, Laurel Hargis, Colleen McAleer, and Randy and Carol Johnson

How to Enter

No advance registration required! Just drop your pie off at the Port Angeles Wharf (behind the Chamber office) at 11:00 am

Judging will begin at 11:30 am

Winner announced approximately between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm (depending upon how long the judging takes)
Judging

Pies will be judged on appearance, taste, texture, and flavor of crust and filling, and overall impression

Pies with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd highest scores will win that place (in the event of a tie the judges will choose a winner)
Rules

Pies need not be a traditional two-crust pie, but the majority of the filling must be apples (other fruits, nuts, etc. are allowed)

Pies must be made from scratch with no store-bought crust or filling

Amateurs only, please do not enter if your job involves baking.

Pies MUST be in a disposable aluminum pie tin. Please DO NOT use a ceramic or glass pie plate.
